The Dentistry In The D 2019 Event Was an Amazing Time And Our Sodium Dental Staff Looks Back On The Event

Sodium Dental Team Ready For Customers

This year Michigan Dental Association hosted their annual even in Detroit at Cobo Hall. The Event, Dentistry In The D, was an amazing opportunity for Michigan Dentists to get valuable CE and to find their next Dental Technology Vendor.

After the event I took some time to interview the Sodium Dental Staff to get their feelings on the 4 days of customer interaction.

Keith Brown – Product Educator At Sodium Dental

“Yes, Within the past Twenty Eight Years, I have been to more than twenty-five.”

What was your first impression of the Michigan Dental Associations Annual Session Known as Dentistry In The D?
“My first impression was that it was very well put together and delightful.”

Tell us about a conversation you had with a Dentist at the Meeting.
“I had various conversations with Hygienist, Assistants and Dentist who were interested in our CBCT, software and services that we offer including what’s new on the market for sensors we sell.”

“A combination of two products: the cone beam panorex and intraoral sensors.”

Based on your experience what did Dentists seem most concerned about if any?
“I would say the most concern that Dentist had was how long  or when our specials would end.”

Did you enjoy being in Detroit for the meeting? Did you eat anywhere fun or do anything fun?
“Yes, I had a wonderful time at the meeting and i had an opportunity to do  a little sightseeing near the Canadian border riding an electric scooter.  I also was able to enjoy the most fabulous seafood with my coworkers.”

What would you like to see changed for the 2020 meeting?

“I would like to see More Dentist involved at the trade show exhibitors booths since they are the ones who make a final decision when it comes to purchases for their office.”

“How massive the event was, so many vendors and denstists.”

Tell us about a conversation you had with a Dentist at the Meeting?
“I was speaking with a hygienist, they have multiple broken sensors in their office, she had no idea that we do sensor repair. She was so excited to know that there was a possibility that their broken sensors could be repaired.”

What product do you think people were most interested in?
“I think the majority of the people I spoke to were interested in our sensor repair. They seemed surprised to found out that we could repair their broken sensors.”

Joshua Beebe – Lead Product Specialist

Tell us about a conversation you had with a Dentist at the Meeting?
“I had a very productive conversation with a Dentist who had used us for repairs in the past but was now interested in how we could help him with his new office as he is expanding.

The dentist in question was looking to build a larger practice and I am helping him out with new computers and a new server.

The Dr. was also not very happy with his proprietary Vixwin Imaging software so I am going to be doing a demo of Apteryx Imaging along with our Aurora sensor.

The Dr. is also interested in 3DCT so we are going over both the Papaya 3D and Owandy Imax 3D as options for his new office.”

What product do you think people were most interested in?
“Based on my interactions, the 3DCT was a hit.”

Hailey Gallinger – Senior Product Educator

Have you been to many trade shows?
“Have have not been to many trade shows, but I was excited to see what Dentistry in the D had to offer.”

What was your first impression of the Michigan Dental Associations Annual Session Known as Dentistry In The D?
“I was impressed by the grandeur of it all with tons of different classes and exhibits to attend.”

Tell us about a conversation you had with a Dentist at the Meeting?
“One conversation I had was actually with a dental student who was about to graduate. He was eager to get his foot in the door and learn more about the dental industry and what is has to offer. He is looking to open his own practice in the next up coming years and was looking for products that not only would suit his practice but suit him. He was impressed with Sodium Dental and our wide array of products from sensor repair to 3D Pano w/ Ceph systems. I walked away from that conversation, feeling good. I knew I was able to help that dental student feel confident in this industry and give him someone reliable to look to when he is ready to open his practice.”

What product do you think people were most interested in?
“I believe people were most interested in our new Aurora Xray Sensor. Something the dentists were most impressed by was the free 5 year comprehensive protection plan that comes with the sensor. They were impressed by how much the protection plan covers as well as the amazing image is produces.”

Based on your experience what did Dentists seem most concerned about if any?
“In my belief, dentist seemed most concerned whether or not the Aurora would work in their software. It is still an new sensor, but paired with our imaging software XrayVision dentists will be able to diagnose their patients with ease.”

Did you enjoy being in Detroit for the meeting? Did you eat anywhere fun or do anything fun?
“I absolutely loved being in Detriot for this meeting. The fact that the Cobo Center is placed right next to the Detroit River blew me away. Such a beautiful location with so many amazing restaurants near by.

For lunch a co-worker and I ate at the Apparatus Room which is located right across the street from the Cobo Center. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful.

There were so many amazing things that contributed to my over all experience at the Dentistry in the D. All of which made me excited to come back next year.”

What would you like to see changed for the 2020 meeting?
“I would like to see class schedules spread out a little differently. My favorite part of it all was talking to doctors and their team. I found that the day came in waves and at some points we did not have any doctors to talk to.”

What product do you think people were most interested in?
“I believe the product people were most interested in was the Aurora sensor. Most of the questions I received were based on that product versus the pano and HD camera.”
