Many dental customers have had a huge issue with portable dental tube heads because the scatter shield hits the end of the sensor holder making you hold the dental tube head too far from the patient. Having the tube head an extra 3 inches from the cheek means you have to up your your radiation timing as much as 40% which means there is more chance of movement during exposure and getting a blurry x-ray.

So what is the solution to the tube head being too far away from the patient to get a great xray? We have a great solution and it is very straight forward. Simply reduce the length of the paralleling bar so it doesn’t interfere with the scatter shield.

Slip the parallel ring onto the holder and slide it towards the sensor to make it tight. The holder will work phenomenally for you. Just call us at 800-821-8962 to order the modified holder or email sales@sodiumdental.com, let us know what sensor you have and that you would like the modified holder for portable tube heads, we have holders that fit all digital x-ray sensor models.
