Description
This is a shipping kit for x-ray sensor repair, any brand, not a sensor. We’ll mail your office a box with a prepaid return label inside. Put your sensor in the box, stick the label on and drop it off. US customers only. Looking for a replacement instead? Browse our pre-owned x-ray sensors here.
How x-ray sensor repair works
- Get it to us. Order this kit and we’ll send the box. Or skip the wait, fill out our repair form and ship it yourself today to Sodium Dental, 540 Avis Dr Suite H, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
- Free diagnosis. Once your sensor arrives, you’ll have an estimate within 48 hours, usually sooner. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for a repair. You only cover return shipping if you want the sensor back.
- Repair. Our techs start the moment you approve the estimate.
- Final testing. We check the cable, the housing seal and that the sensor still fits a RINN holder. Then we take a full FMX in Apteryx XrayVision to make sure it doesn’t pre-trigger, passes an electrical grounding test and finishes every image without a failed acquisition. The printed FMX goes back in the box with your sensor. See our full final testing process.
- Back to your office. Your sensor ships vacuum sealed with a desiccant pack, and tracking hits your inbox. Our logistics specialist follows up after delivery to make sure it’s working.
Every brand, every model
This kit is for any sensor we don’t have a brand kit for, including Planmeca, Vatech EzSensor, Suni, XDR, Jazz, ImageWorks EVA, Instrumentarium, Soredex, Acteon, MyRay, Dentimax, Tuxedo and QuickRay. Have a Dexis, Schick, Gendex, Kodak or Carestream, or Sirona sensor? Those have their own pages. The most common problems we see:
- Blank, gray or noisy images
- Taking an image before you expose it
- Dropping in and out, or not being recognized by the computer
- A twisted, kinked, pinched or chewed cable
Doing something that isn’t on this list? Send it anyway. We can test anything, and the evaluation is free.
Before you box it up, rule out the cheap stuff. A failing USB hub or a missing calibration file can look exactly like a dead sensor. We’ve written up where to find the Vatech EzSensor, Planmeca and QuickRay calibration files. If those check out, it’s time to ship it.
Why offices send us sensors other shops couldn’t fix
Sure, there are cheaper places to send a sensor. We see a lot of those sensors here after the first repair didn’t hold, or after it sat on someone’s bench for weeks. Sodium Dental was the first company to offer dental sensor repair for any brand, and every sensor we fix goes through the same final test before it leaves.
Every repair comes with our 30 day repair warranty. Repaired Dexis Platinum, Dexis Titanium and Gendex GXS-700 sensors get 30 days of our full Protection Plan instead. Review the repair warranty here.
Can’t be down a sensor while it’s here? Rent a 30 day loaner sensor. Thinking about replacing it instead? Pre-owned sensors cost a fraction of new.
